The genesis of this livery born from the desire to celebrate the 23 participations by Sandro Giacomelli at his "home" rally. A rally of the prestigious history, which saw compete on the then dirt Manghen Pass champions like Sandro Munari, Walter Röhrl, Arnaldo Cavallari and many others. A rally that celebrated also the Attilio Bettega debut, in addition to the victorious one about Sandro Munari, co-driver of Cavallari in the first edition (1964). The Cavarzere's "Dragon" even continue to read notes to Cavallari the following year, still hitting the podium (#3rd overall) and then move on him at the wheel, 2nd in 1967 and signing for 5 times the roll of honor: 1969 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1977.
1977: the last edition of the first course, prior to the 1978 cancellation and the long break until 1995.
In 1977, Sandro "Pila" Giacomelli dispute his first San Martino (in the video preview above there are also two of his passes with red and blue Abarth A 112) and 1995-2015 will sign another 21 consecutive stakes, with the pearl of the overall win in 1996. That next September 9, 2016 will be his participation #23.
I also designed a little logo celebratory ad-hoc.
Given this long rally history and the Sandro love for this race, I wanted to give a "historic" character to my livery, simply by coating the first original logo of the rally, the same deliberate by Advocate Stochino over 50 years ago. I completed it all with a stylization of the Pale di San Martino, Unesco heritage and a symbol of Trentino resorts.
So,
